Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Coding Specialist to join our team. As a Coding Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately assigning medical codes to patient records for billing and reimbursement purposes. This is a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely payment for medical services.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate codes using DRG, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding systems
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies
- Conduct audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of coded data
- Stay updated on changes in coding regulations and guidelines
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Assist with medical billing and collection processes as needed
- Maintain accurate and organized medical records
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification strongly preferred
- Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Strong knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG coding systems
- Experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- Familiarity with medical billing processes and insurance claim submission
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
