Job Description:
Wallport Transit Xpress is an established Intermodal motor carrier and property broker out of Texas seeking an enthusiastic head of business development to manage the Houston Region. This self-motivated individual will join our team reporting directly to the CEO and will be responsible for generating sales through strategic partnerships. This role will have a focus on maintaining current accounts, generating new leads and business with a primary focus on BCO, International Freight Forwarders and US customs brokers. The ideal candidate will have multiple years of transportation sales in at least one of the following fields- rail intermodal sales, steam ship line sales, international freight forwarder/NVOCC sales, or intermodal truck sales- allowing them to hit the ground running with minimal supervision. In time, this role will subsequently be responsible for growing and managing an effective sales team in the region under them, allowing them to transition into a leadership role. This is the only sales position in this location, giving the right candidate a unique opportunity to build and manage this territory and an eventual team.
Uncapped commission for the right candidate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and target leads, manage prospects, and acquire new business to increase revenue
- Develop new and grow existing customer relationships as needed
- Develop relationships through a network of referrals and current customers to foster revenue growth
- Work closely with account managers and operations teams to resolve customer complaints
- Maintain pipeline requirements of new prospects, leads, and opportunities through CRM Salesforce
- Provide CEO with weekly sales reports that detail sales activities, revenue targets, and status of prospective customers
- Other duties, as assigned
Required Skills:
- 5+ Years sales experience in intermodal transportation
- Leadership experience and 5+ years’ experience building and managing a sales team
- Ability and Willingness to travel
- Strong Negotiation Skills
- Excellent writer and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Strong computer skills
- Valid drivers license

Pay: $90,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
