Job Description:
As Costume Manager, you will be responsible for building, fitting, altering, and maintaining costumes for our ballet productions. You will work closely with the Costume Design Supervisor and Artistic Team to bring their creative visions to life and ensure that our dancers look and feel their best on stage.
Key Responsibilities:
Construct and alter costumes and headpieces, ensuring they meet the artistic requirements of each production.
Attend costume fittings and make adjustments to costumes to ensure proper fit and movement for the dancers.
Organize and maintain costume inventory.
Collaborate with the Costume Design Supervisor and Artistic Team to select and source appropriate garments, fabrics, and other materials.
Assist Wardrobe Manager with show running as needed.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a tailor, stitcher, cutter/draper or in a similar role, preferably in a theatrical or performance setting.
Strong sewing and pattern-making skills.
Ability to work with a variety of fabrics and materials.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects efficiently.
Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by production schedules.
Benefits:
40-43 weeks at $500 per week salary plus additional $25 per hour for all hours worked above 20 hours per week.
