Job description
Specific roles and responsibilities include:
· Planning and supervision of maintenance activities including cycle work, coordination of specialty crews, weekly schedules, and reports
· Establish good customer relations and communication.
· Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
· Negotiate revisions and prepare change orders and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
· Establish good employee relations within the department.
· Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients.
· Communicate in the form of a weekly safety meeting with the maintenance department employees.
· Communicating with clients, division manager and foreman through meetings, email, phone and presentations
· Participation at Landscape Committee Meetings, Board Meetings, and Community activities
· Hiring and management of foreman and crew members
· Prepare a daily duty assignment and/or punch list of priorities for the maintenance crews.
· Submit weekly reports to the clients via email with details as to what was done during the week.
· Prepare and submit bids for all prospective maintenance projects.
· Prepare drawings for prospective maintenance projects.
· Requisition supplies and materials to complete construction projects.
· Budget time required to meet deadlines and submit cost reports to Bookkeeping for construction projects.
· Take actions to deal with the results of delays, complications, or emergencies on property site.
· Periodically inspect equipment and vehicles and enforce safety precautions.
· Train crews in techniques and craftsmanship of landscape maintenance.
· Supervise all maintenance crews.
· Ability to understand the intended use of, start, and operate landscape construction equipment.
Desired Skills and Experience:
· 3+ years supervisory experience
· 1+ years’ experience in landscape maintenance, construction or related industry
· Degree, coursework and/or specialized knowledge/certifications (ACLP, OPM, Irrigation, horticulture, arbor management) preferred
· Track record of strong customer service
· Ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency and manage multiple priorities in responding to needs and issues
· Arizona Driver’s License with acceptable MVR
· Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish/English is a plus
· Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
· Knowledge of principles and practices required to provide customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and constant evaluation of customer satisfaction.
· Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
· Ability to report for work on time and perform the duties of the job for an entire workday.
· Ability to represent the company in a professional manner while on the job site or when interacting with clients.
· Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees, clients and, potential clients.
· Willingness to work on a team and perform any assigned task given by the owners.
· Ability to work in high summer temperatures common to Arizona.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
