Position Overview:
The Senior Tax Associate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for individuals and various business entities. The role includes tax estimate preparation throughout the year, reviewing staff assignments, and collaborating closely with the firm's tax managers and partners.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and non profits.
- Conduct tax research and offer guidance on tax planning strategies.
- Assist clients with tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Review financial statements and perform account analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
- Collaborate with clients and colleagues to identify tax-saving opportunities and develop effective tax strategies.
- Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to staff tax associates.
Desired Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in investment-related tax matters, including capital gains, dividends, and interest income.
- Ability to perform account reconciliation and resolve discrepancies.
- Knowledge of payroll processes and compliance with payroll taxes.
- An understanding of financial accounting principles.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
