Position Description: Field Service Technician:
The Application Engineer will provide technical support to the sales team and customers, including working with Consulting Engineers, Contractors, and End Users. Duties will include working with APSCO represented equipment manufacturers, aiding in sizing and selection equipment based on engineering and customer needs, performing specification take offs, compiling technical proposals, and managing open projects to ensure timely delivery and successful installation of equipment. Some Travel will be required to participate in training and education opportunities to enhance knowledge of industry processes and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with APSCO sales team and equipment manufactures to provide solutions to customers
Size and educate customers on water/wastewater treatment and process equipment for various applications
Perform specification reviews and take offs
Find and manage public bid projects
Compile equipment bid proposals
Provide support to field service technicians
Manage projects, including compiling submittal and O&M manual documents.
Respond to customer inquiries for new and existing equipment applications
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent mechanical aptitude
Excellent problem-solving ability
Self-driven approach
Highly organized and able to prioritize workload
Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics and engineering drawings
Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications
Strong attention to detail
Relates well with others and has knowledge of team-based work systems
Excellent reliability and attendance
Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint, OneNote, Quickbooks and project management tools.
Able to communicate effectively via email and phone, and Web Meetings
Knowledge of basic pneumatics/hydraulics desired
Basic understanding of Electrical theory
Basic Understanding of Pump Hydraulics and Mechanics
Ability to perform other tasks as required
Qualifications:
Engineering/technical background preferred
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar field preferred
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to read off a computer screen for extended periods of time.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Requirements: Must have valid US driver’s License, pre-employment drug screening and random testing
