Yacht Systems Services, Inc. is looking for people that are passionate about boating and working on boats. We install and repair equipment on recreational and small commercial (tour) boats. If you have experience either professionally or personally in the area and would like to expand your knowledge and experience, contact us! We need people that can work on electrical and HVAC systems. The work we do for our clients requires a high degree of skill, technical knowledge, a professional demeanor and sharp personal appearance.
All qualified candidates must possess the following:
- Minimum 2 years experience operating, maintaining, repairing or installing equipment and systems aboard recreational and small commercial T or K class vessels (tour and fishing boats).
- PLEASE NOTE: Naval and commercial shipboard work is not an acceptable substitute.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Have own trade hand tools for position applied for.
- Ability to lift up to 70lbs and perform physical activities necessary for work aboard boats.
- Writing and typing skills necessary to provide detailed reports of work activities.
- Experienced in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word as well as web browsing software.
- Math skills to include use of fractions, percentages and some basic algebra.
- Smart phone, reliable transportation and have excellent driving skills.
- High School Diploma
The following will enhance consideration for employment:
- Previous employment in this field or extensive personal experience on your own boats.
- Working knowledge on marine HVAC systems, including maintenance, repair and use of common diagnostic tools.
- Working knowledge on marine electrical systems, including maintenance, repair and use of common diagnostic tools.
- Strong interest in science, computers, mechanical and electrical systems.
- Industry certifications from ABYC, NMEA, FCC, etc.
The hourly wage for this position is commensurate with knowledge and experience. Candidates should expect to work 40-50 hours/week depending on work load and weather. YSSI facilities and its worksites are non-smoking and non-vaping. Demonstration of trade skills and knowledge will be required during the interview.
