Important to note about this Boston-based position
The work at LPA is remote with employees and contract staff working from their home offices, except for in-person event and preparation days, site visits, and occasional meetings. The ideal candidate must live within approximately 50 miles of Boston and be available to work select nights and weekends.
Job responsibilities
- support LPA event producers and conduct a wide variety of event-related tasks as needed for each project including assisting in event research and logistics
- interact directly with clients, vendors, sponsors and volunteers and serve as a representative of LPA
- attend virtual meetings (and to a lesser extent in-person meetings) as needed with clients
- work with graphic designers to create event materials
- negotiate contracts with production and décor vendors, interface with function facility staff and other vendors to carry out specific event requirements
- coordinate speakers, their presentation materials and travel arrangements
- coordinate benefits and logistical arrangements for confirmed sponsors/exhibitors
- with guidance from LPA, manage technology vendors for virtual and hybrid events (event registration/payment sites, event apps, etc.)
- update event budgets and track expenses
- manage guest registration and attendee materials pre-event
- play an active role in day-of-event management
- additional duties and responsibilities may be required
Company responsibilities
- provide additional support when needed for LPA social media pages on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experiences:
- College degree preferred but not required
- Minimum of 1-2 years of event-related experience
- Attention to detail is essential
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, sometimes with conflicting deadlines
- Willingness to take on a wide variety of tasks that will vary throughout the life of a project
- Excellent written, verbal and customer service skills
- Proficiency with G Suite, Microsoft programs, and a willingness to learn new programs and become proficient with Apple computers
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Salary and benefits
The Event Coordinator salary range is $46,000 to $50,000.
