Job Summary:
The purpose of this job within the organization is to provide engineering expertise in the review of engineering plans throughout the City.
Essential Functions:

Regular and timely attendance at work.

Reviews and comments on submitted residential, commercial, infrastructure construction plans and various engineering permits; conveys necessary corrections to applicants; meets with applicants individually as needed.

Reviews and comments on submitted plats; coordinates with outside involved agencies to ensure that consideration is given to overlapping standards and regulations.

Provides customer service on behalf of the Engineering Department to applicants, developers, engineers, City staff, and consultants to resolve development and permit issues if any.

Coordinate the review and approval of Building Elevation Certificates.

Understands and calculates water and wastewater impact fee per city ordinance for various uses of the properties within the City.

Provides engineering feedback and expertise to City officials and the public as needed and provides potential engineering conflicts and issues with proposed plans.

Serves as Engineering Department representative at Pre-Development, Planning and Zoning Commission, and Development Review Committee meetings.

Contributes to team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.

Provides floodplain information to residents, developers, and engineers, as needed per the City's Standard Operating Procedure for Floodplain Requests.
Education, Experience, and Licenses:

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related field.

Requires minimum one year of civil engineering experience.

Engineer in Training Certification or ability to obtain EIT within 6 months of employment

Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) Certification is preferred or can acquire within 6 months of employment.
