We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and self-motivated Site People (HR) Leader. The role supports and strengthens our team members and our business, by focusing on employee relations, performance management, recruitment, onboarding, safety, HRIS and benefits administration, and other initiatives that promote a healthy, people-centric culture for approximately 75 employees in the United States. The position is full-time on-site at our BW Integrated Systems facility located in Lynchburg, VA.
Job Responsibilities
- Employee Relations: coach and mentor leader and team members as needed.
- Manage local recruiting, on-boarding and off-boarding processes including exit interviews, candidate screening, and administration of pre-employment checks and employment offers.
- Ensure consistent compliance with employment legislation.
- Administer Corporate benefit programs and facilitate both new hire and annual enrollment processes.
- Management of the learning management system and monitoring of team member completion of assigned modules.
- Drive performance and compensation review processes on a local level, in partnership with the Senior HR Leadership.
- Maintain Workday (HR system of record) and support leaders and team members with its use.
- Consistently apply appropriate judgment and discretion in the handling of sensitive and/or confidential information.
- Maintain strong community and team member relations.
- Provide information to associates on policies/practices, including company benefits.
- Oversee administration of the goal setting and continuous feedback process.
- Provide support and assist leaders with performance management, disciplinary action and Performance Improvement Plans.
- Assists in overseeing the facility’s safety program ensuring adherence to various safety requirements including OSHA standards.
- Coordinate all required annual safety training.
- Maintains and ensures compliance with all OSHA-required recordkeeping; assists in the assurance of corrective safety actions as needed.
- Participate in and/or lead special projects as needed,
- Process Leaves of Absence, STD/LTD, and Workers Comp claims through the appropriate channels.
- Promote the Wellness Program as well as charitable company programs locally
- Generate all required reporting & maintain all personnel files.
- Conduct training as needed.
- Various other tasks that may arise
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business or relevant experience.
- 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and safety regulations
- Experience with employee relations, performance management, meeting facilitation, training, leading and coaching others, managing multiple responsibilities, and leading organizational change
- HRIS System experience, prior Workday experience a plus.
