DETAILS ABOUT THE ROLE, REQUIRMENTS, BENEFITS, AND HOW TO APPLY
Responsible for assuring an exceptional customer experience.
Manages, directs, and coordinates account management service functions. Manages analytical customer support staff; develops and recommends account management policies and procedures; applies experience and judgment to the interpretations, application and direction of activities established by senior management. Issues of major impact or technical complexity are researched and presented to upper management or referred to the appropriate internal experts for resolution.
This position will also manage relationships and accounts with all outsource partners. In addition to maintaining of specifications and technical data entry, other tasks may include entering and referring client concerns to proper departments for resolution, communicating with Sales Management as needed about pricing, competitive analysis, and market analysis, supporting Outside Sales Representatives by supplying information and access to internal resources.
Essential Functions\*:
Department Management: Responsible for the overall efficiency of the department
- Maintains complete and documented SOPs and makes revisions and additions, as required, in coordination with the Quality department and laboratory staff.
- Responsible for overseeing the scheduling of work within the departments to meet customer requirements.
- Responsible for the coordination and approval of all supply purchases.
- Resolves discrepancies, and provides corrective actions in cooperation with the Quality department as necessary.
- Maintains quality control and performance measures to ensure accurate work; holds periodic meetings for discussion of discrepancies, and takes corrective action when necessary.
- Maintains client concerns and assists Quality department in resolutions.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Acts as a mediator to our customers and responds to client calls for complicated issues.
- Ensures customer requirements and deadlines are met.
- Assist or create quotes from all client sources including web/email, customer requests (email/phone) and Sales Department.
- Directs the communication efforts including inquiry calls, account management, and quote follow up calls.
- Actively works to increase wallet share/revenue in assigned accounts.
- Develops long term relationships with regular outbound communication (email/phone).
- Sets up meetings with customer and Tech Team to discuss projects or testing as needed.
- Processes customers re-check and additional requests for work on completed samples.
- Reviews final reports by comparing finished report to paperwork to ensure accuracy in reporting requested testing and testing requirements before distributing to clients.
Planning:
- Coordinates departmental efforts in the planning and enforcement of company goals, strategies, and budget adherence.
- Prepares yearly operational plan and individual goals to meet company goals and strategies, as outlined in the Strategic Plan.
- Maintains and reviews blanket POs and customer contracts for adherence
- Updates and maintain customer and contact information, including customer requirements, testing parameters and industry specifications.
- Assists in the sub-contracting process
- Works with appropriate staff and/or contractors to identify approved labs as well as correct methods.
Management / Employee Relations Responsibilities:
- Develops and conducts all performance reviews for direct reports and makes recommendations on salary increases.
- Communicates hiring needs to Human Resources, interviews screened candidates, and approves recommendations for hire.
- Manages the training of new employees regarding equipment, policies, procedures, etc. Facilitates personal growth and supports employees for the benefit of the organization.
- Enforces all company policies and performance standards and handles disciplinary and corrective steps if necessary.
- Establishes and maintains a positive and productive work environment, as well as positive and productive working relationships between co-workers and other departments within NSL.
- Disseminates information from NSL management meetings to departmental staff (i.e., general operations, strategic planning, company goals, etc.)

Analytical Client Support Manager has supervisor responsibility over the customer support staff at the Analytical Laboratory.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience):
- Bachelors degree preferred (Chemistry or similar) and/or equivalent work experience in Analytical chemistry/Customer Service /Inside Sales.
- 3 - 5 + years of supervisory experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong mathematical skills
- Familiarity with analytical lab equipment and testing procedures a plus
- Customer service focus

Work Conditions/Physical Demands:
General lab environment: includes sitting, standing and walking; infrequent lifting of up to 20 lbs., pulling, pushing, carrying, reaching, bending, twisting, climbing, squatting, and crouching. Work is completed in a lab environment that contains toxic materials with possible exposure to odors, acids, fumes and other reactive materials.
