Job Description:
In this role, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with cognitive disabilities, empowering them to lead fulfilling lives while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while promoting independence and dignity
- Companionship: Engage with individuals in meaningful social interactions, fostering companionship and emotional support.
- Medication Management: Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document accurately.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to individuals' dietary needs and preferences.
- Transportation: Safely transport individuals to appointments, community activities, and outings
- Assistance with Activities: Assist individuals in participating in recreational and therapeutic activities, promoting physical and mental stimulation
- Monitoring and Documentation: Observe and document individuals' behaviors, progress, and any changes in condition, communicating effectively with supervisors and healthcare professionals.
- Safety and Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies or challenging behaviors, implementing de-escalation techniques and following established protocols.
Qualifications:
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, adapt to changing situations, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and training as required by regulatory standards
- Previous experience in caregiving, healthcare, or related fields is preferred but not required.
- Must be 18 years or older.
