Job Summary: The Senior Coding Educator is responsible for researching, developing, and implementing surgical and CPT coding educational programs that follow Instructional Design and Adult learning best practices.
Essential Functions:
- Requires extensive knowledge and experience in surgical coding
- Serves as the subject matter expert on interpretation and application of professional fee and surgical CPT coding rules and regulations
- Creates training materials and educates providers, coders, and other coding professionals on surgical CPT coding
- Create, develop and implement education programs in documentation and coding following Instructional Design and Adult learning using a variety of delivery methods
- Create and maintain documentation/coding presentations, tip sheets, newsletters, and other materials as identified
- Collaborates with Haugen Coding Quality and Compliance team to assist in the facilitation of educational and resource development on regulatory and compliance related issues
- Presents documentation/coding education to Haugen clients following instructional design and adult learning methodology
- Collaborate on new training program design and existing program enhancements
- Develop and create new coding content for supplemental tools, documentation, online, webinar and instructor led training (ILT) delivery
- Assist in the updating and maintenance of existing content
- Facilitates coding education in an engaging and dynamic matter
- Facilitate virtual events, calls, and in-person training to meet client needs and requests
- Plans and completes assigned work within the engagement with high quality, on time and on budget
- Maintains certification requirements including professional development through active participation in select professional organizations
- Collaborates with Coding Quality and Compliance team to identify trends to make recommendations for education and future educational offerings
- Consults and educates client on coding practices and conventions
- Compiles training materials for specific topics (articles, blogs, resources for clients to include desk aids, newsletters, tip sheets, etc.)
- Prepares and delivers executive-level presentations
- Serves as a professional representative of Haugen Consulting Group in all public and client settings
- Identifies new business opportunities
- Performs coding audits, when needed, as defined by compliance requirements and client expectations, determines when additional education is necessary and assists the education team in meeting those needs
- Attends and participates in required HCG meetings
- Maintains confidential information
- Creates and supports the mission of HCG for a positive and fun relationship with our clients, team, and work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $103,000.00 per year
