JOB DESCRIPTION:
Act as a Deli/Bakery clerk for the store, providing first-class customer service at all times. Responsible for the production and merchandising of all products from numerous different vendors. Merchandise product to maximize sales, ensure freshness and check that the product in your department is within code date. Assist in the development of sales programs and product development that will maximize profit and minimize shrink. Produce products to the highest standard of quality and appearance. Lead the store's effort in Food Safety compliance and cleanliness. Assist in facility management. Ensure all product processes are on the POS system and are properly departmentalized. Reduce short-dated items to minimize loss. Advise the management on necessary product or policy changes. Assist in the general operation of the store when necessary, including cashiering, vendor affairs, deposit returns, etc…
Duties will include, but are not limited to: ordering (wholesalers and direct), merchandising and stocking product, fronting and facing product, cleaning, notifying management of system errors, system input, and specified customer service.
Compensation:
$17.00 to $20.00 per hour/$25-30.00 overtime/holiday rate (90 days suspended) Starting wage is based on prior experience.
60 HRS P.T.O. after 1 consecutive year of employment (Standard 40hr P.T.O. formula will apply for 1st year), 100 HRS P.T.O after 2 consecutive years of employment

Performance Bonus- The department will bonus 10% of gross dollar increase (minus new equipment (3 yrs amortized) and labor increases) from the previous year.
*New hire must be employed at Fresh Foods for 6 months before the sign-on bonus is given. Other criteria will be discussed at the time of the interview.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a grocery store setting is preferred
- Proficiency in POS systems and cash handling
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on food service
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for cash register transactions
- Familiarity with food preparation and handling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities
