We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Head Teller/Customer Services Representative. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering excellent customer service.
Summary. Responsible for performing routine and intermediate branch and customer services duties while providing excellent customer service. Supervises other tellers in the office ensuring smooth and orderly operation of teller lines and related functions. Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Essential Functions.
- Meet and greet customers.
- Accepts deposits, cashes checks, process savings withdrawals and disburses funds after verifying signatures and sufficiency of funds to support withdrawals.
- Prepares cashier’s checks, processes credit card cash advances, makes change orders, processes night deposit bags.
- Accepts payments, loan payments, safe deposit box rental payments, etc.
- Enters transactions in the bank’s recordkeeping system, recording all transactions and producing a customer receipt.
- Balances transactions at end of day and verifies cash totals.
- Open and process new accounts, including DDA, savings, certificate of deposit and individual retirement accounts.
- Assists with safe deposit box services, check orders, debit card services,
- Prepares stop payments and wire transfers.
- Provides internet banking and mobile banking support.
- Retrieves and handles incoming mail, outgoing mail and returned mail.
- Maintains a work area that ensures the safety of all negotiables and confidential records.
- Answers the telephone and transfers calls to the appropriate personnel.
- Balance teller differences and maintains accurate teller balancing records.
- Provides Leadership, training and support to teller lines.
- Opens and closes the vault, processes incoming and outgoing shipments, balances vault currency and coin.
- Performs surprise cash counts and other audit functions.
- Gathers data and process various reports.
- Answers customer inquiries and assists in resolving problems within given authority.
Additional Responsibilities.
- ATM Balancing.
- Supervises and manages other bank tellers at assigned branch.
- Cross-sells the Bank’s services and products.
- Represent the Bank in various community or civic functions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Training.
- Interpersonal skills to represent the Bank in a positive way in dealing with customers and other employees.
- Knowledge of Bank Products, Services and Policies.
- Excellent supervisor skills.
- Successful completion of online training and any other compliance training deemed necessary by the Bank.
- Have knowledge and abide by Bank Secrecy Act Laws and regulations.
Education and Experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Customer Service Experience.
- Cash handling experience is required.
- Knowledge of general office and branch operation activities.
Physical Requirements.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
