The Underground Fiber Construction and Maintenance Manager involves a combination of overseeing the construction of new fiber optic networks and managing the ongoing maintenance of existing ones. This role will oversee the in-house underground construction process, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and budgets. This role shall assist with construction activities when needed. The underground construction team will be responsible for the entire Greenlight territory and travel where needed.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate with Engineering Teams across all markets to meet project specifications.
- Develop and execute maintenance plans for existing fiber option network paths.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and use of resources.
- Control costs and seek cost-effective solutions to construction and maintenance activities, collaborating with finance team.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project and maintenance requirements, collaborating with other internal outside operation teams.
- Implement, document and maintain quality control measures for both construction and maintenance activities.
- Promote a culture of safety within the construction and Maintenance teams.
- Work collaboratively across departments to maximize productivity and drive business results as it relates to subscribers and passings
- Communicate regularly with project stakeholders providing updates on project progress, maintenance activities and network performance
- Generate reports on project and maintenance status for leadership and stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to improve construction and maintenance processes.
- Develop and implement training guidelines, and process to ensure proper education of new hires, and existing employee growth.
- Manage employees in multiple regions and states, including implementing productivity measurements, and On Call procedures.
- Producing thoughtful annual employee reviews of Supervisory teams.
- Provide Feedback and resolution to company inventory needs and challenges.
- Manage maintenance schedule and appointments for underground fleet and equipment.
- Coordinate efforts to ensure proper housing of company owned construction vehicles, drills and inventory. Including pricing and ideal location of storage facilities in multiple markets.
