The Business Development Representative is a positive, sales goal-oriented, professional who excels in environments that monetarily reward performance. This is an external facing sales role that will represent Orthopedic Associates of Riverside, and Midland Orthopedic Associates, in the healthcare community, and act as a customer service liaison to our referring physician and carrier partners. This position reports to the leadership team and works together to achieve new patient growth goals for the practice.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
· Obtain patient referrals by planning and organizing daily work schedules to call on existing and potential new referring physicians.
· Must be able to develop strong, authentic, and meaningful relationships with providers and referral coordinators.
· Be able to identify and prospect for new business opportunities.
· Develop and adjust the content of sales presentations by understanding the client needs.
· Develop and maintain social media presence.
· Analyze the market potential and determine the value of existing prospective referral sources and payors to the organization.
· Identify and prospect for new payor opportunities.
· Plan and coordinate business breakfasts, lunches, dinners, drop-offs, and outreach opportunities.
· Consistently log detailed activity and keep management informed by sharing weekly work plans and monthly account analysis.
· Monitor competition by gathering current information on competitor’s activity in the market.
· Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports and making recommendations to leadership.
· Maintain professional and technical knowledge through Self-study; reviewing professional publications; establishing professional networks; attending training as required.
· Participate in trade shows and client entertainment as needed weekends and evenings.
· Maintain accurate & detailed expense account within assigned budget.
· Contribute to team effort by accomplishing goals.
· Support leadership teams as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the organization.
Job Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred
· 1-5 years of healthcare sales experience
· Experience with Salesforce or CRM Software
· Must possess a clean motor vehicle record and a safe, presentable vehicle (will be given a car allowance)
· Energetic, confident, self-motivated, and outgoing individual who can achieve and maintain established goals.
· Detail oriented and highly organized individuals with the ability to multi-task
