Community Consolidated School District 62 in Des Plaines, Illinois is seeking a Russian Language EL Paraeducator for the 2024-2025 school year at North Elementary School.

Position Information:
The EL Paraeducator is responsible for:
Assisting classroom teachers and supporting instruction to meet EL program objectives. This EL Para has direct contact with students under the supervision of a classroom teacher, and must interact as part of the instructional team
Collaborate with certified staff
Assist in the assessment of students and communicate results to families (i.e. translation of assessments).
Participate in Staff Development opportunities.
Collaborate in parent involvement activities.
Create a supportive, empathetic environment for students and parents.
Communicate with parents, but don’t initiate conferences/appointments.
Perform any other duties assigned by the EL Director, EL Coordinator and /or principal.
Translate appropriate academic materials from classroom teachers (written and/or oral), following order of priority: 1st- EL issues, 2nd- classroom issues
The EL Paraeducator will be paid for 6.5 hours per day. The typical day schedule is from 8:40AM - 3:40 PM at the elementary schools and 8:00AM-3:00PM at the middle schools. Some variations in time may occur based upon the assignment. The EL Paraeducator reports to an assigned classroom teacher and the building principal.

District 62 has approximately 4,500 students in grades preK-8 in 8 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 1 early learning center, and 1 year-round, K-8 school.
