Director of Business Development
Type of Position: Permanent, Full-time

Purpose of Role:
The Director of Business Development works closely with senior leadership to appropriately identify, target and develop client and market strategies, goals and execution plans to achieve company sales goals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build a robust pipeline of high quality, actionable opportunities and lead the initial evaluation of opportunities.
- Provide input on proposals through clear articulation and translation of client needs and goals.
- Attend relevant conferences and stay abreast of industry news that may impact company’s opportunities.
- Ability to develop sales capabilities within the team and grow sales capabilities within organization.
- Work with marketing to develop project winning proposals, marketing, and branding material.
- Record, track, and provide accurate sales reports and projections to management.
- Develop and implements strategies to create partnerships and business relationships to win clients and projects.
- Identify, target, and sell Pacific Coast Jet Aircraft Management Services to new and existing aircraft owners;
- Analyze the progress of revenue-generation goals and make recommendations for adjustments/interventions as required;
- Proactively generate new leads through effectively leveraging networks;
- Actively build and manage key relationships with existing and prospective clients;
- Lead proposal generation and presentation; act as primary client interface;
- Lead all aspects of the sales cycle to drive growth; manage complex contract negotiations and collaborate with internal resources as required;
- Analyze and keep current on product knowledge, market opportunities and trends; share feedback to business development team regarding competition, offerings, prospect needs and product development ideas;
- Identify and develop key strategies/initiatives for capitalizing on market opportunities;
- Monitor and report on sales metrics including but not limited to: pipeline status, close rates and lost opportunities; make recommendations to improve performance as required;
- Use CRM system to support and track prospects and clients throughout the sales process;
- Close working relationship with Marketing to identify opportunities and nurture sales funnel.
Qualifications Required:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's (B.S.) degree from an accredited University or college or equivalent education and experience.
- 5 years in business development/sales preferred, at least 2 years specifically in private aviation
- Demonstrated ability to seek out, pursue and close sales opportunities.
- Possess a sense of urgency, high energy level, strong organization and follow up skills.
- Proven track record in closing deals.
- Travel may be up to 75% to meet with potential clients and to attend conferences.
- Prior experience in an aircraft management or aircraft sales role.
- Knowledge of the aviation industry and experience with aircraft sales is required.
- Demonstrated success in prospecting, negotiating, closing, and sales planning.
- Self-starter with strong business and financial acumen.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; builds strong working relationships and works well within a team environment toward common goals.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build sound working relationships with prospective clients at all levels.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce and/or HubSpot is considered an asset.

- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Aviation market.
- Strong sales ability. Understanding of complex and strategic selling and sales team leadership
- Ability to create a sales roadmap for future growth.
- Relationship builder as evidenced by building rapport, managing internal and external relationships and working effectively across functions and geographies.
- Ability to chart a course and determine what needs to be done, ability to maintain momentum and enthusiasm despite setbacks.
- Dynamic individual, able to demonstrate evidence of being a highly proactive self-starter.
