Job Title: Senior Project Engineer
Compensation: $110K-$130K plus eligible for overtime
Location: Primarily reports to client sites in Washington DC and Northern, VA
SUMMARY:
This position is typically held by an individual that has at least 6+ years’ experience as a Project Engineer in the HVAC Controls/Building Automation industry. He or she must have related industry knowledge and strong customer service skills. This individual should have an advanced understanding of HVAC mechanical systems, building operating systems, DC systems and can analyze control system drawings, control sequences and schematics. He or she must exhibit strong leadership skills including team leading and the ability to empower others through delegating responsibility. This position is responsible working with and overseeing subcontractors and BAS Technicians for the overall turnkey design, installation, and checkout, commissioning, and troubleshooting using detailed company guidelines. Performs moderately complex customer support activities for equipment and systems products. Ensures that each project assigned reaches final completion on time and is implemented at or below the estimated cost in the approved sales estimate and is billed in timely fashion through the duration of the project. Works under direct supervision of a construction manager or Project manager.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review engineer's design per plan and specifications.
- Review Hardware Design submittals
- Oversee and coordinate subcontractors and Technicians on related projects
- Lead project implementation efforts on projects with limited scope and size and lead validation on commissioning processes
- Prepare close out and hand over project to service department
- Diagnose communication problems and install control devices and other components as well as troubleshoot software and hardware issues
- Participate in field audits and related analysis and results and performance assurance of installed systems
- Keep field documentation up to date and organized.
- Oversee the onsite day-to-day activities of the project
- Prepare customer-training manuals and provide customized training to customers as needed
- Other duties may be assigned

EDUCATION:
- Four-year degree required or related work experience in the field of Building Automation
EXPERIENCE:
- Six plus years related work experience required
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Good understanding of HVAC, access or other building electronic control systems a plus
- Ability to analyze control system drawings and schematics a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to, Word and Excel
- Strong basic math skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
