Junior Sales Associate
The Blogsmith needs help building relationships with our community and prospects to continue growing our business. You’ll report to a Sales Manager and collaborate with our team to help support our sales goals in this capacity.
We’re interested in working with a Junior Sales Associate who is ambitious, proactive, and interested in growing a business to its full potential.
Specifically, someone who’s available every day from Monday - Friday. The hours you work will be largely determined by the events you're attending. We will be flexible with you and your schedule/availability, but we expect you to have availability to attend 1-3 events a week. Some events will be during 9-5 hours, but there will also be events at night. Outside of events, we expect you to have some hours free from 9-5 to sync with the sales team.
In this role, you’ll be expected to:
- Hit success metrics that include (but not limited to):
- Contacts and leads generated
- Emails sent
- Appointments set
- Events attended
- Help identify relevant local networking events worth attending.
- Participate in and attend relevant local networking events for client prospecting.
- Build relationships with our target audiences, such as local agencies and industry professionals, by completing post-event activities such as:
- Sending emails
- Building LinkedIn connects
- Supportive SMM engagement tasks
- Identify and maintain existing database of contacts for local businesses relevant to The Blogsmith
- Assist the Sales team in creating, implementing, and executing a comprehensive sales plan to meet sales targets.
- Conduct effective follow-up on prospect accounts related to your networking.
- Understand and effectively communicate The Blogsmith’s services and expertise to event attendees.
- Manage contact data, sales campaigns, leads, and opportunities in our CRM.
Previous experience working/interning with marketing agency services or in a marketing capacity is desired but not required. You’ll jump to the top of our list if you also have content, marketing, and agency experience. Bonus points for candidates who have an existing database of local contacts relevant to our industry.

We balance the needs of human readers and search engine robots but ultimately focus on creating a great reader experience.
As a Junior Sales Associate, you should be familiar with how our company creates top-notch content and how we provide the vital support clients need.
Soft Skill + Technical Skill Requirements
- Excellent communication skills: You’ll be working with fellow team members and clients to accomplish tasks related to communicating what we do to event attendees at networking events. Good interpersonal skills: In addition to being able to communicate clearly, team members should be good at building and managing relationships with internal and external parties. Regardless of emotions, you will be expected to communicate as a professional with our internal team and external clients and vendors. You understand that a big part of being a great salesperson is being a great listener.
- Professional English writing and speaking skills: Because you’ll be interfacing directly with clients and our business focuses on high-quality written communication, a mastery of professional written and verbal communication is required for this role.
- Networking experience: Let us know if you have networking experience or any other professional experience including college clubs and extracurriculars. But if you don’t have a lot of experience but you’re passionate about content marketing and networking, please still plan to apply.
- Write “Hi Maddy” (in addition to any questions or comments you have) at the end of the application form so that we know you’re paying attention to detail.
- Organization/planning skills: Relationship-building success is a function of planning and consistency. We expect you to respond to communications with internal and external parties in a timely manner every workday.
- Industry experience: You should feel comfortable chatting with B2B technology professionals as an industry insider. We recognize that each of our clients has a learning curve but the overarching industry should be familiar. We are happy to mentor someone willing to learn to fill any gaps.
- Tool and process proficiency: While we don’t expect you to be an expert out of the gate, we’ll expect you to become familiar with and confident using tools that include Google Workspace, HubSpot, Airtable, Slack, and Notion. Training and support will be provided. The Blogsmith is a process-oriented company with thorough checklists for each task and role in our organization designed to make it easy to track everyone’s progress.
- Past sales success: We’re looking for someone with some sales experience and past success with cold pitching and closing new business and will ask you to elaborate on past sales results in our application. This includes wins you’ve had with networking and successfully building business relationships.

- $20/hour for 10+ hours/week (if you have more availability, share it when applying) with the potential for eventual full-time work + 5% commission.
