Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Infant and Toddler Assistant Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education, possess a kind and patient demeanor, and be committed to ensuring the well-being and happiness of our children. This role involves assisting the lead teacher in implementing a high-quality care and educational program tailored to the needs of infants and toddlers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for infants and toddlers.
- Support the lead teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
- Provide attentive and responsive care to the needs of each child, including feeding, diapering, and comforting.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where every child feels respected and valued.
- Engage with children through play, storytelling, singing, and other interactive activities to enhance their learning and happiness.
- Monitor and document children’s progress, development, and milestones.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on their child’s daily activities and development.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive team dynamic.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18yrs of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent, associate degree in early childhood education or related field preferred, but not necessary.
- Previous experience of 2+ years working with or volunteering with infants and toddlers.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated kindness, patience, and a genuine love for working with young children.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude.
- Certification in infant and child CPR/First Aid, employer can provide.
- Background check and clearance required.
