General Summary:
Experienced Die Tryout Die Maker to work automotive dies for changes, validations, FLD. Work with Program Managers, Foreman and Leaders for product changes, new builds to customer standards & requirements. Evaluate panels on checking fixtures to determine and troubleshoot proper path to correct out of tolerance items.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Strive towards completing tasks and jobs within the original estimated hours
· Should be able to read & interpret CMM data to determine path to correctness.
· Has knowledge of press set up, both Straight side & toggle (dual action)
· Understands tonnage requirements, air cushions, nitro cylinders and die springs
· Supports the Quality System
· Promotes shop Safety. Specifically, the safe operation and lock out procedures of all presses.
· Follow ATC Die Tryout process
· Has own tools
· Competent in operation and set up of all Press’s
· Knowledge of SMIRT Die Shop program
· Understands the Die Build process
· Interpret die designs
· Able to work jobs to a schedule
· Has in-depth knowledge of Die Tryout techniques and trouble shooting
· Spotting
· Nesting Trim Changes
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This job operates in a manufacturing / factory setting as well as a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, but overtime may be necessary as work load’s dictate. This will include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.
Required Education and Experience:
· Journeyman card/certificate preferred or 8 yr + equivalent
* Experience with large automotive body dies
· Trouble shooting
* Spotting
*Barbering
*Die Setting
· Draw Die experience
· Line dies & timing (cam/direct etc. …)
· Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T)- is preferred
· Welding (TIG/MIG)- is preferred

Pay: $21.00 - $33.50 per hour
