MIDDLE SCHOOL LANGUAGE ARTS TEACHER
Job goal:
To structure the learning environment for creatives to study the Arts-Integrated English program as outlined by the Westwind Curriculum Guidelines.
Essential duties & responsibilities:
The following statements of responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
- Cultivates a classroom culture that provides rigorous arts-integrated instruction in the content area.
- Plans a program of study that meets the students' individual needs, interests, and abilities.
- Participates in Professional Learning Communities with administrators and teachers to collaborate and work together to grow personally and professionally.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Prepares weekly lesson plans for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
- Sets and maintains high standards of classroom behavior.
- Assesses students' accomplishments regularly and provides progress reports as required.
- Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student conduct.
- Strives to improve professional competencies through State required professional development and content area-specific training.
- Attends staff meetings as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
- Teaching Certification or ALP preferred
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Evidence of ability to work with diverse student populations.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Evidence of strong organizational skills.
- Evidence of strong oral and written communication skills.
Work Remotely
Job Type: Full-time, 190 days per Contract year
