SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Delivery Driver is to deliver, merchandise, and service accounts in the assigned route, while maintaining the quality of our products and promoting a safe work environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Represent Caffey Distributing Company/Carolina Premium Beverage in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service.

Assist Delivery Manager and Area Delivery Managers in promotion of safe work practices to include frequent behavior-based safety observations.

Is familiar with specific route.
- Is familiar with and certified to use all types of delivery equipment, pallet jacks, docks and dock-levelers, trucks and trailers per Caffey Dist. And OSHA standards.
- Maintain a friendly, working relationship with the Manager on each account on all routes in assigned area.

Listen to and resolve service complaints.

Confer with Area Delivery Managers to resolve customer problems, opportunities, competitive activity in your market, and potential overage situations.

Prepare invoice, collect payment from customers and record transactions on customer receipt.

Check in product with Store Manager, following store policy.
-
Restock displays, coolers, and cold box with new product/existing products.

Responsible for adhering to Overage Beer Policy.

Clean inside of truck. Perform routine maintenance on truck and complete the FMCSR approved inspection report daily.

Maintain safe driving record and comply with company driving policy.
-
Check in with office daily and follow-up on messages and pages promptly.

Maintain confidentiality of sales trends and history of accounts.
-
Attend all scheduled meetings and company functions as required.

Adhere to dress code, including safety non-negotiables, and be properly groomed at all times.

Obey all federal, state, and local laws.
-
Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB KNOWLEDGE AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Requires the ability to read, write, complete simple forms and understand simple written instructions. Requires the ability to perform arithmetic skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division including decimals and fractions. Could require simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules or diagrams. Equivalent to a high school education. A minimum of one year and up to three years of experience and/or training.

Requires the use of some judgment to use acquired job knowledge to comply with instructions and standard procedures, methods or practices involving the making of minor decisions.
MENTAL / VISUAL / AUDITORY DEMAND
Continuous mental and visual attention; usually repetitive work or diversified operations requiring constant alertness or activity.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR EQUIPMENT
Continuous mental and visual attention; usually repetitive work or diversified operations requiring constant alertness or activity. Responsible for total set-up, adjustment, operation and/or maintenance of equipment where errors would result in extensive damages and expenses. Responsible for safely operating delivery vehicles, up to and including over-the-road tractor-trailer units. Requires the ability to use a hand truck, cart, lift gate, folding dolly, electric pallet jack and hand-held computer systems.
RESONSIBILITY FOR MATERIAL OR PRODUCT
Works with materials or product where errors usually would be detected and could be re-worked without major loss of materials.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAFETY OF OTHERS
Safety of others depends entirely on correct action of employee on job being rated; accidents, should they occur, may result in total disability or death.

Responsible for own work or occasionally for 1 person.

Somewhat disagreeable work conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions and sometimes exposed to dust, dirt, heat, fumes, cold, noise, vibration, water, oil, etc., with some being present to the extent of being disagreeable.
HAZARDS
Injuries, should they occur, may result in loss of time, due to crushed hand or foot, loss of fingers or toes, eye injuries, chemical burns, etc.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
CDL-A License and ABC Beer permit required, as well as a driving record (MVR) within Company Driving Points Policy.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Requires the ability to read, write, complete simple forms and understand simple written instructions. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
