What you will do for Harris County Precinct 2
Under the direction of the Director of Special Programs, the Special Programs Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily functions of the Special Programs Department. The manager will supervise all aspects pertaining to food services program, including referrals and resources. The Special Programs Manager will oversee the implementation of grant guidelines, assist with special events, senior programs and disaster preparedness.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations of Food Services, including meeting all grant requirements, reporting guidelines, budgeting and food safety compliance for the Senior Meal Program.

Assume responsibility of handling comments, questions and complaints from constituents regarding Special Programs Department

Support in the creation and execution of special events and senior program activities.

Assist in disaster relief preparations and various multi generational programming for the Precinct 2 community.

Daily supervision of Meal Program staff in accordance with human resources policies and procedures.

Represent Precinct 2 within the community, maintaining positive relationships and fostering collaborations that lead to increased funding and program opportunity.

Other duties as assigned.

Education:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution
Experience:
-
Three (3) years experience in management or in a similar role

One (1) year of experience with grant reporting and compliance
-
One (1) year experience in food services
-
Experience with planning and implementing special events
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
