Job Overview:
We are seeking a Resident in Counseling to join our team. Must be able to apply or already approved for residency in the state of Virginia. The ideal candidate will provide mental health counseling services to individuals, families, and groups in a clinical setting.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct mental health assessments and develop treatment plans
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Utilize cognitive behavioral therapy techniques in counseling sessions
- Conduct crisis management interventions as needed
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients
- Conduct clinical research and contribute to evidence-based practice
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to support clients in achieving their goals
Skills:
- Data collection skills for assessment and treatment planning
- Proficient in HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards
- Experience working with children and adolescents
- Strong background in mental health counseling
- Knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy techniques
- Familiarity with clinical research methodologies
- Understanding of coding for insurance billing purposes
- Ability to handle crisis situations effectively
- Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques
