LatinoBuilt (LB) is a trade association for Latino Contractors in Oregon, a 501(c)6 whose primary purpose is to support and empower Latino-owned businesses in construction. LB works with partners within the community to address the current inequities and connects contractors to public works project opportunities. In the 3+ years after its establishment, LatinoBuilt continues to experience tremendous growth, and we need someone excited to embrace our organization's vision and mission to continue our growth.
LatinoBuilt is seeking a talented and entrepreneurial individual to join in our success. The Business Development & Technical Assistance Coordinator (BD/TA Coordinator) will apply business consulting skills to help our Latino contractor members tackle simple to complex business tasks to help secure contracts in the construction industry.
This position will provide holistic business support to small and medium-sized firms with the primary goal of generating growth and stability. The BD/TA Coordinator will also work towards achieving set goals by improving management and capital efficiency, identifying new opportunities, and increasing profits. As well as seek opportunities to optimize resources and build your network of trainers and consultants to support the membership’s educational needs.
The BD/TA Coordinator may also conduct key business analysis activities, including requirements definition and business process design. We are looking for someone with “out of the box” analytical skills and personable characteristics that leads to members’ success in acquiring projects with thoughtful foresight.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree – Preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, Architecture, Engineering or General construction
- 3+ years of relevant business systems analysis or business consulting experience
- 3+ years experience of Project Management methodologies/design
- Bilingual Spanish/English with strong written and verbal communication skills targeted to different audiences -Members, Stakeholders, Sponsors, Subject Matter Experts and Team Members
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work within and transcend client political environments
- Strong business acumen – Ability to understand Construction related business fundamentals and implications of change
- High Proficiency with CRM software programs, including Word, Excel and powerpoint, and web based apps (i.e. Hubspot, Google Docs, Excel, etc,.)
- Business Analysis experience – including processes, estimating & contracts execution
- Ability to operate in ambiguity of new members business problems and rapidly develop a plan and path forward with very little direction or oversight
- Manage small or medium projects or tracks of work within large projects
- Build project approach, detailed plans, resource plans and project structure
- Detail-oriented with the ability to proactively drive other resources toward completion of deliverables
- Identify and distribute Bidding opportunities to members and provide bidding assistance as requested
- Facilitate business process design and organizational role and responsibility definition
- Pricing strategy and profit analysis
- Cash Flow Projections
- Financial literacy- budgeting, record keeping and basic construction accounting concepts.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
