Description:
You will be working with children with Autism and/or other developmental disorders between the ages of 2 years to 12 years of age. Children over the age of 12 may be considered on a case by case basis and might participate in higher functioning social skills groups and life skills groups. Please use code words "responsible and reliable" during the first phone screen with us to let us know you read our job descriptions. We will ask you for the code word.
We’re seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Registered Behavior Technician/Registered Behavior Therapist and/or a Behavior Therapist (BT) who will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (speech therapists, occupational therapists, BCBAs, etc.) and implement best practice child-specific Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs. Our behavior therapists will provide direct one-to-one (1:1) ABA therapy and are required to collect accurate and immediate data into our electronic data collection system (Central Reach).
Responsibilities include:
- Providing direct client care in one-on-one and group settings
- Following the behavior reduction and behavioral skill acquisition protocols
- Collecting and immediately recording accurate data based on client behavior
- Communicating with clients, parents, and caregivers regarding client progress when appropriate
- Assisting behavior analysts and assistant behavior analysts with behavior reduction assessments and skills acquisition
- Assisting behavior analysts and assistant behavior analysts in the preparation of client materials
- Providing early intervention therapy in a center-based setting
- Collecting data and implementing individualized treatment plans for each child
- Collaborating with a team of like-minded individuals
- Working under the direction of a BCBA and/or lead RBT therapist
- Keeping the child engaged, the setup of incidental learning opportunities, and teaching appropriate play and social skills.
- Attend training and meetings as required.
- Maintain client dignity within complex situations.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Follow all BACB ethics codes and remain up to date with changing criteria.
- Maintain RBT certification annually
- Maintain RBT supervision requirements annually.
What we are looking for:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required. College degree preferred.
- Must earn the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential within the first 60 days of employment
- Must pass a background check
- Pass the RBT exam through BACB
- Passionate individual who loves working with children 12 and under (will work with children older than 12 on a case by case basis)
- Preferred experience working with children diagnosed with autism or a developmental disorder
- Time management skills, observation skills, and analytical skills
- Ability to receive detailed information through written and verbal communication
- Willingness to learn and implement new skills, as well as the ability to work on a team
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- No tardiness, you are required to show up to work on time - Our kiddos and families depend on us and absenteeism isn't acceptable
- Appropriate, cohesive, and clear parent feedback at the end of a child’s session.
Licensure, registration, and/or certification:
- Current BLS/CPR/First Aid (Can be completed once hired)
- RBT Certificate from BACB preferred**

Pay: $16.00 - $22.50 per hour
