Who We Are
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that promotes justice by providing free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees. As an organization that combines expertise developed from the daily practice of immigration law with a deep commitment to advocacy, RAICES is unique among immigration organizations. We provide a holistic approach to immigrants. RAICES not only assists immigrants in navigating through complicated immigration laws, but we also assist immigrants with social needs through case management and providing assistance with housing. RAICES advocates that justice is an inherent human right that should be awarded to everyone regardless of age, religion, country of origin, sexual orientation, or ability to pay for legal counsel.

This position will be onsite.
PLEASE NOTE: All employees are assigned to an office location. The expectation is that you live within the area to commute to and from the office as business or client needs require.

The Janitor ensures that the property's internal and external common areas, facilities, and buildings are clean and maintained to a high standard. This role is fundamental in preserving a clean environment and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities:

Picking up trash around the building, grounds, and parking lots,
-
Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchen, and break rooms.
-
Replenish supplies as needed.
-
Sweeping or hosing off all curbs, breezeways, and front entries
-
Cleaning interior and exterior windows, interior and exterior glass doors;
-
Emptying all trash cans, vacuuming, mopping, dusting and spot treating floors and surfaces as needed;
-
Spot cleaning/shampoo of carpet as needed;
-
Dust throughout areas as necessary with careful consideration of staff belongings;
-
Assist staff with setting up conference rooms/training rooms as needed;
-
Changing air filters, lighting checks and light bulb replacements;
-
Performing routine janitorial tasks and preventative maintenance;
-
Monitor site and report necessary maintenance to supervisor; and
-
Maintains inventory of necessary parts, cleaning supplies, and other materials needed to perform job duties
-
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
High School diploma or equivalent;
-
1 year experience in commercial or industrial cleaning;
-
Proficiency with handling basic and hazardous cleaning chemicals and supplies; and
-
Ability to work a flexible schedule of nights, days, weekends, and holidays
Physical requirements:
-
Required to perform strenuous walking, stooping, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing, twisting, grasping, and reaching overhead; and
-
Able to lift 30 pounds and walk/stand most of the day.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
2+ years working in maintenance and/or janitorial duties including handling carpet shampoo and wax machines; and
-
2+ years cleaning large scale commercial properties.
