Job Description Summary:

The Center for Interfaith and Spiritual Life will foster and support the diverse religious and spiritual needs of the George Washington University community, promoting interfaith dialogue, understanding, and cooperation.
George Washington University seeks a dynamic and innovative leader to serve as the Program Coordinator, Spiritual Life Operations. This is a unique opportunity to foster a welcoming and inclusive space for students, faculty, and staff on a secular campus to explore their religious and spiritual identities, engage in interfaith dialogue, and navigate ethical challenges. The Program Coordinator, Spiritual Life Operations will play a pivotal role in shaping a vibrant and diverse community that respects and celebrates all individual journeys of meaning and purpose.
The position Reports to the Director, Interfaith & Spiritual Life, responsibilities include:
Manage daily operations of the Center, including scheduling, calendar management, recordkeeping, and filing systems.
Oversee and provide support to student employees, ensuring efficient workflow and positive learning experiences.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, process invoices, and manage the Center’s budget effectively.
Coordinate and manage office supplies, equipment, and technology needs.
Manage multiple communication platforms, including social media, websites, and other platforms useful by GW’s policy and guidelines.
Collaborate with the Director and other staff to assist with coordinating logistics for diverse events and programs.
Handle event registration, communication, and marketing materials.
Manage event setup, and breakdown, and ensure adherence to safety regulations.
Prepare and submit necessary reports related to events and programs.
Serve as the primary point of contact for the Center, providing courteous and efficient service to students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Assist with drafting and disseminating communication materials related to Center activities and programs.
Foster positive relationships with diverse religious and spiritual communities on campus.
Collaborate effectively with other departments and offices across campus to promote religious and spiritual literacy.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/ GED plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e,g., Business Administration, Public Administration, Religious Studies) preferred.
1+ years of experience in administrative or operational roles is desired.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software is preferred.
Experience working with event planning and logistics is a plus.
