Position Overview:
We are seeking an accomplished and experienced Archaeological Technician to join our esteemed team in a Senior role. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of expertise in archaeological fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and project management. This position involves not only hands-on work but also leadership responsibilities, playing a crucial role in advancing the organization's mission.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Provide strategic leadership in archaeological fieldwork, ensuring the successful execution of surveys, excavations, and preservation efforts.
- Oversee the development and implementation of project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Technical Expertise:
- Utilize advanced archaeological techniques and methodologies in fieldwork and laboratory settings.
- Contribute to the analysis and interpretation of complex archaeological data, demonstrating a high level of expertise in the field.
Project Management:
- Take a lead role in planning and coordinating large-scale archaeological projects, including proposal development, budgeting, and timeline management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
Mentorship and Training:
- Provide mentorship to junior and mid-level archaeology technicians, fostering professional growth and development.
- Lead training sessions to share knowledge and expertise within the organization.
Research and Publications:
- Contribute to the development of research initiatives, publications, and presentations.
- Collaborate with researchers to integrate archaeological findings into broader academic and scientific discourse.
Qualifications (Education and Experience):
- Master's or Ph.D. in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in archaeological fieldwork and laboratory analysis.
- Proven leadership and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development of archaeological research initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration and dissemination of research findings.
- Proficiency in relevant archaeological software and technologies.
