Job Description:
Petland is seeking an enthusiastic, customer-oriented Sales Associate to join our team. This position offers a unique management opportunity for individuals passionate about pets and retail sales. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, assisting with pet adoptions, and ensuring the overall success of our store.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Greet customers promptly and courteously.
- Assist customers in selecting pets and pet supplies that meet their needs.
- Provide information and education on pet care and product usage.
- Resolve customer complaints and inquiries professionally.
- Sales:
- Achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Upsell and cross-sell products to maximize sales.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of our products and services.
- Store Maintenance:
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking as needed.
- Maintain the health and well-being of all animals in the store.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with team members to ensure smooth store operations.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Management Development:
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and the ability to motivate team members.
- Assist with administrative tasks and store management duties.
- Develop skills to take on future management roles, including scheduling, inventory management, and staff supervision.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Previous retail or sales experience preferred.
- Experience with animals and a passion for pet care.
- Management or leadership experience is a plus.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills for point-of-sale systems and inventory management.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- College degree in a related field is a plus.
