Laboratory Shift Analyst Position
Summary of Duties: Perform day to day sampling and routine testing of raw materials, product intermediates, and finished product samples of polymers and other materials as directed in a timely and accurate manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Must promote safety in the operation of the laboratory
- Must use the proper protective equipment at all times
- Must perfume various housekeeping and other tasks to ensure the safety of the laboratory
- Must work shift work and be available to work overtime as required for vacancies
- Collect samples from plant operating and processing units and deliver to the laboratory as needed.
- Log in samples from the plant operating and processing units into the Laboratory Information Management System
- Performs various physical and chemical testing on in process and finished product samples in a timely manner
- Post results of testing into LIMS precisely and accurately an in a timely manner
- Promptly reports discrepancies and out of spec conditions to supervision
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervision
Minimum Education and Experience
- Associates degree required preferrable in science field with 5 years of industry experience.
- Quality control or quality assurance experience strongly preferred.
Skills Required
- Must be profiecient in Microsoft Office and possess excellent computer skills
- Requires strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Must have ability to work unsupervised, as part of a team.
- Requires ability to respon to problems quickly and efficiently.
Working and Environmental Conditions
- This position is located in a chemical plant producing polymers. Considerable outside work is expected which will require wearing a company provided uniform and proper PPE.
- Requires flexibility with schedule, including break times an working extended hours, when needed.
