Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual experienced in litigation to join our team as an associate. You will be responsible for handling your own matters when the feasible while also assisting on larger complex construction matters. Construction litigation experience is preferred but not required. You will also conduct legal research, draft discovery, motions, and pleadings, and attend hearings and oral arguments.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research using various resources such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Assist in drafting legal documents, including contracts, briefs, and pleadings
- Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Assist in preparing for litigation, including organizing case files and conducting factual investigations
- Collaborate with attorneys to develop case strategies and arguments
- Attend meetings, hearings, and trials to provide support to the legal team
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all legal activities
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Law or related field
- Strong research and writing skills
- Proficiency in using Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis for legal research
- Knowledge of legal drafting techniques and principles
- Ability to litigate and negotiate effectively
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Prior experience in a legal administrative role is preferred
