The mission of the Morehouse School of Medicine Center for Maternal Health Equity (CMHE) is to pursue equity in maternal health by reducing maternal morbidity and mortality locally, nationally, and globally by building and strengthening community-academic partnerships, developing a competitive translational research program, and offering interdisciplinary and professional training. Our vision is to have ‘healthier mothers, healthier children and healthier families’ by advancing science as it relates to women’s health and building bridges for community engagement and advocacy.
The Center for Maternal Health Equity (CMHE) is seeking two Postdoctoral Maternal and Child Health Justice Research Fellows to contribute to the center’s research, training, and community engagement activities. The fellows will contribute to a portfolio of federally- and privately funded maternal health research under the mentorship of the Center’s Executive and Assistant Directors. The fellowship focuses on research pertaining to maternal and child health (MCH), women’s health, sexual/reproductive health, health equity, reproductive justice, research justice, community-engaged research, epidemiology, social and structural determinants of health, implementation science, and health policy. We desire fellows who have a passion for addressing maternal health inequities, and who will pursue MCH faculty and leadership positions at the national and state levels.
The fellowship appointment will be for 1-2 years, with funding for the second-year contingent upon a successful first year.We encourage applications from individuals from racially/ethnically diverse backgrounds, or other underrepresented backgrounds.
