$33,800.00-$46,500.00 Annual
This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.

Johns Manville, a leading manufacturer and marketer of premium-quality insulation, commercial roofing, and engineered products is searching for a Utility Operator to join the team in Tucson, AZ.
Responsibilities
Safety:
-
Maintain a safe work environment
-
Work closely with EH&S. Follow all OSHA and environmental requirements throughout the facility.
-
Keep informed on all JSAs for the assigned equipment and keep updated on all changes.
-
Operate metal cutting saws, cranes, and other equipment safely.
-
Operate lifting equipment, including cranes, hoists and forklifts, safely lifting and moving parts and material.
-
Ensure completion of assigned safety training and compliance tasks.
-
Ensure all JM Policies and Procedures are followed.
-
Willing to work any shift required to support the need of the business.
-
Ability to stand for prolonged periods in an industrial setting.
-
Must be capable of using forklifts, cranes, and have the physical ability to stand for long periods of time, lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Must be capable of performing repetitive tasks.
-
Must have to ability to operate various hand tools including pneumatic, electrical, and manual
-
Ability to safely climb stairs and ladders throughout the workday.

Ability to complete tasks associated with various hot works. Including the ability to wear necessary PPE to protect worker from such hot work hazards.

Ability to wear steel-toe safety shoes for prolonged periods of time

Ability to work in a noisy environment and wear hearing protection as required.

Ability to work in a dusty environment and wear respiratory protection as required.
Job Duties:

Operate a metal cutting saw and perform necessary adjustments
-
Make accurate measurements, accurately cutting material to specified size
-
Safely move material from racks to the saw and visa-versa.
-
Understanding of inventory control and cycle counts.
-
Capable of using packaging tools, equipment, and a variety of crates used to package many different sizes and weights of parts
-
Operate forklifts and other lifting equipment to safely load and unload trucks.
-
Safely move material from racks to the saw and visa-versa.

Follow written instructions

Keep inventory accurately, draw from inventory and put back into inventory

Keep accurate inventory records on paper and in our computer system

Write legibly, both on material and documents
Qualifications
-
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Tech school certificate or diploma a plus.

Interface with team members on all shifts and other departments.

Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Self-starter that, upon completion of training, shows the ability to carry out assignments with minimal direction and supervision.

Show initiative in supporting safety plant wide.
-
Computer competency, capable of learning to interface with required databases and programs.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively

Ability to read, write and interpret complex items in English

Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce

Effective interpersonal and communication skills

You will work under the genera supervision of the shift supervisor, performing all machining to maximize productivity to maintain safety and quality standards. The Tucson, AZ plant is a full-service manufacturing, and machining operation with high skilled machinists and operators who specialize in high temperature alloys and proprietary parts for Johns Manville.
