About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile On-Call Swing Technician to join our team at the Atomic Saloon in Las Vegas. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical theater background and be capable of working across all technical departments within a theatrical production. These departments include lighting, sound, carpentry and wardrobe. The primary responsibility of this role is to serve as a swing, stepping in as needed to cover various technical positions, and ensuring smooth cue tracks throughout the show. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, flexible, professional, and ready to learn. Experience with lighting console programming plus and the ability to work in a team setting is crucial. This position reports directly to the Production Manager.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a swing technician, providing coverage for technical positions across all departments, including lighting, sound, carpentry, and wardrobe.
- Learn and master the technical aspects of the show, including cue tracks and timing, to seamlessly fill in for absent technicians.
- Collaborate closely with the technical team to maintain a high standard of production quality.
- Assist with the set-up, operation, and maintenance of technical equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly and safely.
- Run cue tracks during performances, ensuring precise execution and timing of technical elements, such as lighting changes, sound effects, and set movements.
- Quickly adapt to changes and adjustments in the production, working closely with stage management to ensure a smooth transition.
- Perform basic lighting programming tasks, such as creating and modifying cues.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety guidelines.

What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts or similar discipline preferred
- 5 years experience as a Theatrical Technician, operating on large productions.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of technical theater operations, including lighting, sound, carpentry, and wardrobe.
- Familiarity with basic lighting programming concepts and the ability to navigate lighting control systems.
- Experience with DMX, and TCP/IP networking preferred
- Working knowledge of standard office software (word processing and spreadsheets)
- OSHA 10 General Industry certificated completed in compliance with state law
- Must be able to perform physical tasks including (but not limited to) standing, kneeling,
crouching - sometimes for extended periods of time - and lift and carry 50lbs unassisted
- Applicant should be comfortable working safely on a ladder or personnel lift

- Able to work a flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays;
- Must maintain proper safety and sanitation standards;
- Must have valid work authorization for the US
