General Description:
The HVAC Instructor job is both a hands-on and classroom-based teaching position that serves adults who desire to learn more about and obtain the basic skills necessary to work toward passing the State of Kentucky Journeyman’s Licensure Test. The HVAC Instructor must be able to successfully connect with these participants and be able to teach them both the book/code knowledge and the hands-on skills for a job as an HVAC technician. The requirements involve an individual with an HVAC journeyman’s license.
Daily Work Expectations:
The HVAC Instructor position is a part–time position, working with approximately 10-15 participants at a time for 3 hours a night, 2 nights a week, over a 26-week course (September to April). The schedule is either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday evening between the hours of 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Instructors are also allotted ½ hour each day for program planning either at the beginning or end of the training day.
