Position Goals: Maintain a clean and safe interior and exterior environment in various buildings and grounds on campus, perform maintenance and assist staff with various requests to allow for the smooth operation of education services.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Vacuum, mop, sweep, etc. all floor areas including classrooms, offices, restrooms, etc.
- Sanitize, disinfect and clean all restrooms including toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, partitions, dispensers, dryers, etc.
- Restock supplies as necessary including paper towels, toilet paper, sanitary bags, etc.
- Perform general cleanup of all interior and exterior areas of the building as directed.
- Manage routine upkeep of exterior areas, green space, playgrounds, and parking lot to include weed control, debris pickup, mulching, etc.
- Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders
- Remove garbage and recycling daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up
- Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests
- Provide professional courtesy to all students, administration, staff, parents, guest and visitors;
- Support evening cleaning crews by maintaining sufficient stock levels of replacement restroom and cleaning supplies;
- Assist building staff with furniture requests/relocations and deliveries between buildings;
- Maintain daily cleanliness of building during work hours to include handling any spills or mishaps some on an emergency basis;
- Keep all egress and ingress areas clear of any obstructions;
- Inspect on a monthly basis all fire extinguishers and emergency lighting and record as needed;
- Assists in maintenance when needed; painting, spackling, renovation work, etc.;
- Oversee common areas, electrical rooms, janitorial rooms and storage areas are clean and safe at all times;
- Observes condition of campus in general and reports any unusual circumstances;

Professional Experience:
- Knowledge of institutional and/or commercial cleaning duties
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals
Basic Physical Requirements:
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 20 to 50 pounds and constantly moving items correctly and safely;
- Frequent kneeling, bending, crouching, and reaching;
- Frequent handling of various sizes and weights of items.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent;
- Experience or knowledge of trade skill preferred; plumbing, drywall, carpentry, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively and use hande power tools;
- Knowledge of basic computer skills;
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals;
- Reliable transportation;
- Valid driver’s license;
- Neat and clean appearance.
