We are specifically looking for candidates with extensive experience in managing large NIH grants.
Job Summary/Description:
Manages all pre/post-award grant and contracts operations. Oversees, assigns, reviews, and participates in the work of staff responsible for pre/post-award duties to ensure compliance of internal and external procedures.
Job Duties/Responsibilities/Functions (including but not limited to):
1. Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices and policies with the ability to use them in complex varied situations.
2. Possesses and applies extensive knowledge of principles, practices, procedures and laws governing sponsored programs.
3. Negotiation: Ability to analyze and cultivate best alternative to negotiate by building rapport, actively listening and asking good questions in searching for smart trade-offs.
4. Leadership: Ability to direct and contribute to initiatives and processes within the organization while creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows.
5. Project Management: Effective project management, planning and organizational skills, and ability to multi-task in a rapidly changing environment.
6. Communication: Superior interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and ability to effectively exchange information with stakeholders.

8. Computing Acumen: Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Job Duties
1. Management and oversight of pre/post-award processes that include reviewing and approving activity for professional staff.
2. Assigns duties to personnel and oversees work in progress for all pre/post-award activities.
3. Provides internal/ external training for all pre/post-award activities.
4. Provides guidance to the institution, faculty, and staff for proposal submission requirements including interpreting sponsor and institutional guidelines.
5. Provides policy and procedure interpretation to academic departments and prepares specialized reports to federal and sponsoring agencies.
6. Manages staff to include interviewing, hiring and training of employees; setting and adjusting pay rates and hours of work; planning and directing work; appraising productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in employment status; handling complaints/ grievances and disciplining when necessary.
7. Performs all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM Education:
Bachelor's degree is required.
MBA or Master's degree is preferred.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Seven (7) years related experience to include two (2) years in a supervisory or management role is required.

Budget forecasting and resource management
Risk forecasting/management

6. Computing Acumen: Proficiency in MS OfficeSuite.
7. Strategic thinking for budgetary planning andresource management.
8. Ability to work on multiple sub-contractsacross multiple institutions.
