Apply your optical, electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering skills to revolutionize the surgical care of cancer by developing a radically novel laser-based approach to cancer imaging. In this role, you will:
- Build and perform laser/optical experiments using conventional test and measurement equipment (such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, actuators, etc.)
- Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of cutting-edge robotic, laser-based optical signal processing, rf-photonic, and spectroscopy imaging systems
- Support refinement of the design and implementation of hardware and software modifications of the current instrument
- Experience with experimental data analysis with Python
- Validate appropriate signal and noise budgets throughout the optical and electrical signal chains
- Assist in design, development, implementation, and testing of next generation imaging systems
- Support transfer of algorithms, technology, results to third party contract manufacturers and regulatory personnel
- Maintain and organize the laboratory, which includes regulatory and safety compliance, cleanliness and tidiness.
- Assist in collecting experimental data using Time resolved fluorescence system in OR or in the lab.
- Maintain and manage the record of all experimental work.
- Manage experimental data generated in the lab and during the clinical trial.
- Ensure proper compliance with IRB protocols and clinical trial procedures.
- Assist in the laboratory with procedures such as soldering, machining, etc.
- Analyze data and execute programs for data analyses.
- Ensure surgical equipment/devices are setup before the procedure and meet sterility and safety guidelines/policies.
- Manages lab equipment to ensure proper working order requesting internal/external maintenance, if required.
- Manages lab supply inventory, including obtaining quotes and ordering supplies.
