District Deli & Coffee is a small neighborhood restaurant located in the Arts District community of Downtown Las Vegas. Built on the philosophy of offering high-quality products, providing great service, and creating a welcoming environment, we strive to deliver a memorable experience at an affordable price.
Our menu features a small selection of pastries, breakfast options, sandwiches, salads, and sides. We also offer smoothies and coffee using a dark roast blend made in partnership with Dark Moon Coffee Roasters. We are seeking motivated, passionate, and positive-minded professionals to join our growing culinary team!
Successful candidates will possess the following skills:
- Demonstrable knowledge of basic kitchen equipment
- Experience with preparing dishes from scratch
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques
- Ability to learn, translate, and execute recipes to specifications consistently
- Strong eye for detail and unwavering high standards for cleanliness
- Experience working in burgers, sandwiches, poutines, salads centric menu
- Possess proficient knife skills
- Passion for delivering appetizing food presentation
- Ability to prioritize and work efficiently while juggling multiple tasks
- Ability to access all areas of the restaurant without restrictions
- Has accountability and willingness to uphold high standards set forth by management
- Ability to take constructive feedback and continuously strive for improvement
- Desire to develop professionally within the company for the long term
- Demonstrable knowledge of general SNHD health guidelines to maintain a safe food-handling establishment
Responsibilities:
- Execute menu items to specifications set forth by management
- Working knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment such as fryer, flat top griddle, salamander, stove top burner, and salad tables.
- Stocking workstations as necessary
- Work varied shifts, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Maintain a clean working environment, and perform detailed cleaning as required by management
- Perform closing duties including cleaning equipment, filtering fryer, wiping down equipment, wrapping
product, and following closing checklists.
- Perform miscellaneous job functions as required by management including assisting prepping
ingredients, organizing kitchen, and washing dishes
- Assisting with FOH duties on occasion if business dictates to work cohesively as a restaurant
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards compliant with SNHD guidelines
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 years working in restaurant with similar menu
- Must possess valid health card
- Must be 18 years or older
- Proof of eligibility for employment
