We are seeking career minded individuals to join our landscaping division as a landscape foreman!
Landscape Foreman
Description: This person will be responsible for executing landscape activities as designed by the landscape designer. May lead a crew of one to three laborers depending on project needs. This person will be responsible for making sure all product and equipment is delivered to the job site in a reasonable and safe manner. Will perform or supervise the excavation and installation of patios, retaining walls, steps, fill dirt and topsoil, grass seed or sod, mulch, rock, plants, landscape lighting, etc. This person may be assigned to the irrigation crew as the company’s needs require.
As the company grows, this position could be eligible for promotion to landscape designer or operations manager, with the right experience and/or education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Crew management of 1-3 people
- Ensuring crew safety and that no one is needlessly put in dangerous situations
- Managing crew time sheets and turning them into supervisor daily
- Keeping track of all job supplies and equipment used, including equipment hours if applicable
- Experience operating skid steers, mini skid steers, excavators, etc.
- Excavation of work area
- Finish grading/leveling
- Installation of patios, retaining walls, steps, rock, mulch, trees, plants, sod, seed, etc. per plan documents
- Pick up and return rented equipment, if needed
- Maintain equipment in presentable and operable order
- Clean jobsite at end of every day and after each job
- Report to supervisor any accidents that happen on company time or with company equipment
- Snow removal in winter, either working alone or with a crew
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor
- May be required to work between 40-60 hours per week, with most weeks averaging 50 hrs
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the landscape industry with at least two years as a crew leader/foreman OR 10 years of experience in the landscaping field with experience in hardscapes and grading.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in landscape design or architecture, or related field preferred.
- Must have experience operating skid steers and excavators. Experience with other types of landscape equipment or skid steer attachments preferred.
- Successful experience leading crews in seeding/sodding; building retaining walls; building stone/brick steps; building patios; installing edging, rock, mulch, plants, and trees; grading.
- Snow removal experience is preferred, but willing to train
Pay: $23.50-30/hr. depending on experience and education with overtime possible. Paid major holidays and one week of paid vacation after first year! Health, dental, and 401(k) with company matching available to career minded individuals.
