Job Description:
As a Traveling Industrial Controls Electrician, you will play a crucial role in our field operations team, responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial control systems at client sites throughout the United States. This role requires expertise in electrical systems, automation technologies, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, calibrate, and maintain industrial control systems including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and associated electrical components.
Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
Diagnose electrical and control system issues using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to execute system upgrades, retrofits, and installations according to project timelines and specifications.
Provide on-site technical support and training to client personnel on equipment operation and maintenance practices.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards while working in industrial environments.
Requirements:
· Minimum of 3 years of experience as an industrial electrician or controls technician, with a strong emphasis on PLCs and automation systems.
· Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and technical documentation.
· Hands-on experience with troubleshooting electrical and control systems in industrial settings.
· Ability to travel extensively and work independently or as part of a team in diverse locations.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
· Strong commitment to safety protocols and best practices in industrial environments.
· Flexibility to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Certification or training in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.) is highly desirable.
· Experience with SCADA systems and industrial networking protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.).
· Knowledge of industrial instrumentation and control valves.
· Familiarity with NFPA 70E standards for electrical safety in the workplace.
