We are a fast growing Immigration Law Firm, looking for a quality paralegal to work in our EOIR (Immigration court) department and help ensure a smooth and effective case management for our clients. You will provide a broad spectrum of legal services focused around immigration court, under the supervision of an attorney. Experience working on immigration cases in immigration court in the past is a plus but not required (we will train the right candidate).

Responsibilities
Case Management:
- Assist attorneys in managing immigration cases by organizing and maintaining case files and documentation.
- Keep track of important deadlines, court dates, and filing requirements for each case.
- Preparation of and submission of all filings with the immigration court
Legal Research:
- Conduct legal research on immigration laws, regulations, and precedent cases to support attorneys in building strong arguments.
- Analyze and summarize legal information relevant to specific cases.
- Research and prepare supplemental documentation for filing with EOIR.
Client Communication:
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and documents for their cases.
- Provide updates on case status, court proceedings, and requests for additional documentation.
Drafting Legal Documents:
- Prepare and draft legal documents such as petitions, applications, affidavits, and briefs under the guidance of attorney.
- Ensure that all documents are accurate, properly formatted, and compliant with relevant immigration regulations.
Assisting in Court Filings:
- Prepare and file documents with immigration courts and government agencies in a timely and organized manner.
- Keep track of filing fees, receipt notices, and any correspondence from the courts and USCIS.
Court Support
- Assist attorneys in preparing for immigration court hearings, including compiling evidence, organizing exhibits, and drafting hearing summaries.
- Accompany attorneys to immigration court hearings to provide administrative support and document case proceedings, if needed.
Translation and Interpretation:
- Provide translation and interpretation services when communicating with non-English-speaking clients.
- Translate documents such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, and other relevant materials.
Case Strategy Development:
- Collaborate with attorneys to develop case strategies and identify potential issues or challenges in immigration cases.
- Contribute insights and suggestions based on legal research and knowledge of immigration regulations.
Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain an organized database of client information, case details, and important dates.
- Schedule client appointments, meetings, and court appearances.
Assisting with Administrative Appeals:
- Help attorneys prepare administrative appeals in cases where decisions are unfavorable, including gathering additional evidence and drafting appeal briefs.
Stay Updated on Immigration Laws:
- Stay informed about changes in immigration laws, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate and up-to-date assistance to clients.
Collaboration with Team:
- Collaborate with attorneys, other paralegals, and administrative staff to ensure smooth case progression and effective client service.
Confidentiality and Ethics:
- Maintain the confidentiality of client information and adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
