POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electro-Mechanical Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining production and other plant machinery including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Limits downtime of equipment by performing inspections, documenting issues, creating parts lists and work-orders, and performing tasks to eliminate ongoing and repetitive issues.
· Diagnoses and repairs machine breakdowns in a timely fashion and with professionalism.
· Adheres to all applicable GMP policies and guidelines.
· Practices lock out/tag out safety procedures and utilizes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adheres to all food safety and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and guidelines.
· Documents work accurately and timely in the CMMS, as required, to meet all policies and procedures.
· Troubleshoots and modifies PLC’s, controls, meters, and sensor hardware.
· Reads and understands electrical schematics and ladder logic.
· Assists in the identification of design enhancements to improve equipment reliability while working with vendors and engineering to implement these changes.
· Installs electrical and electronic parts and hardware in machines using soldering equipment and hand tools.
· Assists in the installation of new machinery and equipment.
· Reports broken/inoperable/unsafe equipment to the shift supervisor, Maintenance Manager, and/or Plant Engineer and takes immediate corrective action as appropriate.
· Guides and assists maintenance mechanics with equipment repairs.
· Maintains ongoing necessary/required training, certifications, and education.
· Comply with company rules and policies including GMP’s and PPE, and adherence to SOPs
· Institutes the direction and goals of the Maintenance Manager to maintain the safety, efficiency, and productivity of equipment and plant operations.
· Assists supervisors in after-hours maintenance calls as needed.
· Maintains work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
· Performs other duties as assigned by Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
· Two-year technical degree or equivalent certification; electrical certification preferred.
· Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Maintenance Mechanic.
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in industrial electrical troubleshooting.
· Experience wiring 480V and 208V motors (programming settings on the VFD’s for these motor) as well as drives and electrical components.
· Knowledge of manufacturing equipment; food processing knowledge preferred.
· Proficiency with electrical and mechanical system troubleshooting.
· Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines, often times on short notice.
