Job Description:
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional healthcare services to our residents. The ADON will work closely with the Director of Nursing to oversee nursing operations, manage a team of skilled nursing professionals, and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Leadership:
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
- Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective care.
- ·Oversee resident assessments, care planning, and the coordination of care services.
- Overseeing resident wound care, and infection control practices
- Assume the role of the Director of Nursing in the absence of the Director of Nursing (DON)
2. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor and improve quality of care.
- Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections and surveys.
3. Quality Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement and implement quality assurance initiatives to enhance resident care.
- Analyze data and trends to develop and implement action plans for continuous improvement.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professional growth, and job satisfaction.
4. Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., social services, rehabilitation, dietary) to ensure comprehensive care plans that address the holistic needs of residents.
- Participate in care conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with 2 years of progressive leadership experience in long-term care or a similar healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of nursing regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
