QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
· Associates required; Bachelor’s preferred (concentration in sociology or marketing is ideal). At least 2 years of outreach or eligibility experiences in a government-funded community organization. Sales experience a plus
· Experience creating and/or implementing program marketing plans and/or outreach strategies preferred
· Ability to learn and know contract goals and requirements to ensure information provided to customers is accurate and timely
· Experience learning goals and requirements of multiple programs to ensure compliance with funding sources’ policies and procedures
· Familiarity and experience with low-income communities in at least one, and ideally multiple areas where we offer service: East L.A., the San Gabriel Valley, the San Fernando Valley, and Antelope Valley
· Reliable transportation and a clean driving record- this position will involve regularly going into the field
· Excellent customer service and ability to persuade potential clients in a meeting and/or public forum
· Excellent oral, written and communication skills
· Able to work well with customers (one on one setting), office staff, crew, independent consultants and the general public
· Bilingual in English and Spanish (required); Armenian, Russian, Cantonese, Mandarin may replace Spanish
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
The applicant must be able to:
· Spend 3-5 days a week in the field attending events and meeting with various partners and stakeholders, as well as canvassing for potential applicants
· Create leads and drive conversions independently by making contacts, telemarketing and canvassing potential clients
· Grow and maintain a portfolio of property owners and/or management companies, community/faith-based organizations and local government offices such as DPSS, WIC, and Senior Centers to promote State and Federal Weatherization, Emergency Heating/Cooling and Utility Assistance programs
· Research events to attend and community organizations with whom to partner in our service area; arrange for our presence there; and maintain a record of organizations with whom we have collaborations
· Maintain a schedule of events and meetings they will be attending and with whom they will be meeting, to be shared with team members
· Handle social media duties leading up to, while attending and after events; leverage social media channels to drive partnerships and event attendance
· Make and deliver presentations of program information to a group setting for 25 or more people to convince them to enroll in our no-cost programs
· Work with team to set up tables at community events, fairs and partner meetings to provide information to the public, including during nights and/or weekends
· Process, review and dissect files from applicants for eligibility, and make contact with applicant and property owners/managers for proper documentations and/or missing information as required
· Enter any database information as needed to in-house software Serv-Traq and/or other tracking/reporting platforms, conforming to federal and state data and file retention standards as needed
· Complete reports, such as daily production, mileage claims, and scheduling, and provide updates on work assignments as needed
· Work closely with Outreach Coordinator and other Intake & Eligibility specialists to ensure daily work is provided to keep crew production moving on an ongoing basis
· Other duties related to working with applicants and property owners to determine eligibility, advance and process their application as assigned by Supervisor/Manager. These may be in the office or the field, as determined by each situation
