BGM Green Cleaning Specialist--This position is Monday thru Friday 5p to 9pm.
Job Description
Pre-Qualifications: Must pass all pre-employment testing/checking, including lifting repeatedly up to 40-50# throughout the shift.
Qualifications: Employee must be able to follow written instructions and job procedures, have adequate oral communication skills; and able and willing to use all types of janitorial equipment required at jobsite.
Reports to: BGM Night Supervisor and/or Night Lead
Work Shift: Hours are based on needs of individual contract. Employee reports directly to jobsite. Attendance is a critical part of this position and your success at BGM.
Pay: Hourly, non-exempt. Pay rates are job site specific.
Timekeeping: Payroll system is clocking in/out from a phone or time clock on site. Employees must clock in and out at each job site. Payment for all work is subject to the employee’s correct use of clocking in & out and it is your responsibility to clock in/out properly.
Employees must clock out for a 30 minute unpaid lunch break each shift if working more than 6 hours.
Time off: All time off, including vacation time, must be requested minimum of 30 days in advance and is subject to management approval.
Keys/Co. Items: All assigned keys/badges are to be signed out and employee is responsible for them.
Any/all costs incurred on lost/non-returned keys, non-returned ID badges, and company property will be deducted from the employee’s final paycheck.
Transportation: Employees are responsible for transportation to, from, and between work sites. No mileage is paid.
Uniforms: Maintain good personal cleanliness and follow the dress code; always wear company
uniform and photo ID badge when working.
Training: An initial training period of 3-5 days will occur on-site.
Overall Responsibilities: Responsible for performing assigned janitorial tasks, using only BGM approved chemicals and standard equipment to ensure building cleanliness that meets BGM and client standards. A backpack vacuum is considered standard equipment. Maintain professional relations with customer, good communication with customers’ employees and all BGM staff. Assist team members with completing projects and daily operations as needed to achieve company standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- CLEANING: Perform a wide variety of cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, spot carpet cleaning, trash collection and removal, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning restrooms, break rooms, kitchens, gyms, shower rooms, etc.
- FOLLOWING BUILDING PROCEDURES: Building procedures and all instructions from BGM staff are expected to be followed daily, including utilizing only proper chemicals and equipment. Address any building evaluations, immediately correcting issues and taking proper steps to keep issues from recurring by following job procedures
- CLEAN WITHIN BUDGET: Account to be cleaned within the budgeted hours while maintaining the quality at a level that meets BGM and client expectations.
- Supplies/Safety Expectations:
- BGM is a safety minded “green” company. All staff will maintain a safe working environment and report safety problems to their immediate supervisor. Know where all safety information, including MSDS sheets, is located at the client’s facility.
- The janitorial closets are to be clean and in working condition at all times with only BGM approved chemicals being stored & used. All vacuums will be properly maintained.
- Secure building nightly to make sure all is locked up correctly and alarm set (if assigned).Communication:
- Communicate appropriately (written and verbal) with co-workers, management and clients.
- Ensure that BGM is aware of any/all customer communication, or building changes, by informing your supervisor in a timely manner.
- Display honesty and respect towards customers, co-workers and management at all times.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
